Catherine Anne O'Hara OOC was born March 4 1954. O'Hara has been the recipient of a number of distinctions which include a Genie Award, a Golden Globe Award as well as two Screen Actors Guild Awards, two Primetime Emmy Awards, and six Canadian Screen Awards. In 2018 she was named an Officer of Canada. In 2020, she was awarded the Governor General's Performing Arts Performing Arts Lifetime Artistic Achievement Awards. O'Hara first made her appearance as an actor in 1974 as in The Second City, an comedy troupe that improvised located in Toronto. Along with John Candy, O'Hara was part of the main cast of the sitcom Coming Up Rosie (1975-1978). O'Hara and Candy began working on Second City Television's sketch comedy show (1976-1984). O'Hara won a Primetime Emmy Award in 1981 for her writing in the Outstanding category for Variety Series. O'Hara was named to the Second City artistic advisory panel in 2022 by Stephen Colbert.
